Third attempt...

So I stumbled across this old blog of mine a few days ago and reading back through it is really strange. A lot has happened and a lot has been done in the time frame between the last post and now. So much so i'm too lazy to fill it in. In a few days me and Becki will be moving to Sheffield in order to be closer to the rock and to try and build a life there. So needless to say it looks like i'm going to try and update this thing again. I don't think anybody ever will read this, but its kind of nice to write down my thoughts from time to time :)

More soon...

Font...AGAIN!!

Me and Chris made a weeks trip over to Font in France for some bouldering gnar!

So as well as LOOOOOOOOADS of climbing there was also lots of good weather, beautiful nature and good wine!

One night we retired to one of the boulders deep in the woods and watched a thunderstorm crack all around us without the rain to wash us out. It was an amazing experience.

I managed to get two of my projects done, Beatle Juice and L' Angle Ben's.
Even after hundreds of tries and near accomplishments Chris unfortunately couldn't get his project Moondance. But like we said, its been there for millions of years, were sure it'll be there when we come back for our next trip!

After all the sweating its only right to have a shower in the rain!!!

Ramshaw Rocks

So Jo and I headed up to Ramshaw Rocks for his birthday climb.
Jo hadn't climbed for 5 years or so and I managed to force him over the past week to get back on the rock!
So we get to Ramshaw and Jo lead Boomerang...

Then we both had a crack at a few others

Then back to Jo's in Liverpool for a Birthday BBQ!
Woo Woo!!

Been a while...

...since I've posted.Just been super busy and haven't been bothered. Which isn't the attitude i know so I'm going to start making an effort from now on (i hope).
First of all had a great trip to Font in France and got loads of new boulder problems done!
Met some great people and a heck of time living in the woods.
Heres a video a made of my friend a met out there doing a font classic...

Got back from Font and then a day later headed to Kalymnos for a sport climbing holiday with Becki. Nothing but Sun, Sea and the best spot climbing in the world. Oh and a funky Kopaberg cider we can only seem to get here. AND Dark Dog!!!

Chilling on the boat with Becki!!!

Hanging out in the Back Cave on Kastelli.

Sunday 27 February 2011

I remember taking this photo, while camping in red rock county, Arizona. Or Sedona… Me and my friend Sam had camped about 100 yards down stream from a couple in their late 20’s who happend to be recovering heroin addicts with a car full of downers. After drinking half a bottle of rum and eating some yellow prescription drugs, the guy started waving a knife around threatening to stab us for hitting on his girlfriend…

Some writing of mine from a long time ago...

The man behind the desk told me to put both my shoes on. I did so carefully, you can never be to safe around here. Them swine could be lurking around every corner. I took my ticket and sat down. Strange thoughts interrupt my normal pattern of thinking. How long have I sat here? Three hours? Three days? A month? Hmm… Strange feelings of a twisted reality gone wrong. It was never always like this. Not when I was very small like a pint glass. Oh no! No fat man then! … Or was there? Dejavou is an occurrence I am most familiar with. Like the back of my hands.
No time to waste. Must leave and get there for the deadline. Walk slowly towards the door… Imagine if they caught me. How could I live with it. They would probably toss me down there with the sodomites. In the dark, beheaded … ripped to shreds. No! They will never find out. To the door. Death comes only the those who fear it. Men who are not afraid of death are unstoppable. I am unstoppable! The fat man grabbed and twisted me towards him like an angry headmaster to a school bully. “Whats going on here?” he asked. “I’m looking for the tree house and the hundredth forest” I replied truthfully. There is no room in this world for the lieing kind. Always truth full, its like gold dust. He knew what I was up to. “Look into my eyes!” he whispered. I could sense he might be onto something. Maybe he was on my side? I couldn’t be sure. Not yet. Be cool, stay calm, he knows what he’s talking about. He is the fat man after all. “You’ve found the trail youngling!” he shouted as his face lit up. He pulled me closer and whispered “If only I were still as young as you. Then I could go myself.” I then knew it was up to me. With the power of a thousand horses i was off. I knew, just as well as you! As soon as I got outside to the soggy grass i remembered what we all know matters most and took off both of my shoes.
